What is the relative velocity for a head on collision to have He2+ fuse with He2+? I've calculated the velocity at around 400 million degrees or 37 Kev (corrected from 400 Mev), and need confirmation, as this seems high. I'm looking for references dealing with alpha fusion events, including the probability of a near miss results in fission of one or both alpha particles.
Note: The number comes from the energy of the Coulombic Barrier for He2+ with He2+.
