Phase change materials can store thermal energy. When it is hot material will store the energy by melting, but release it by change from liquid to solid. Example could be a wax dispersion. When you make a nanodispersion heat transfer will be fastened due to the large interface and small volume of particles, respectively droplets.

Efficient phase change materials (PCM) should have good thermal conductivity as they transform the solid to liquid phase as well as when they change phase from the liquid to the solid phase. Addition of some nanoparticles (NPS) such as zinc, cu, etc. can improve the heat transfer properties and the thermal conductivity of PCM.

as Titus Sobisch. Also, a dense (liquid, solid) phase has a higher classical thermal conductivity compared to a gas phase. So this mechanism is taking place when the local Temperature TpT is favorable for such phase transition(s).   The nanobubbles' colony (morphology) may be considered as a new type of nanosize energy bank(s), showing usually hysteresis[1], when this mechanism is valid near TpT. The coupling mechanisms with particles inside nanobubbles offer us many (R&D) options to optimize these nano-electromechanical systems as well as a better (DC/AC electro-thermal2]) energy harvesting in nano-encapsulated PCM systems.
