What is the maximum passage number we can go for H9c2 cells without losing its healthy morphology?

I am working with H9C2 cell line and I see a lot of differences in their morphology as they are giving more granules. And also they are forming clusters and not monolayer. The passage number is 25 and I am not sure wheather it is because of that?

Hi Sathyan, it is well known that cell lines can change phenotypes with extended passage. You should have a measurable assay that shows you when the cells are not working.
