The autoinducer 2 (AI-2) system first identified in the genus vibrio and subsequently found in a broad range of Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria (Rice et al., 2008). Vibrio parahaemolyticus isolates were shown to produce AI-2 (Defoirdt et al., 2006; Mizan et al., 2016). Garcı´a-Aljaro et al. 2011, investigated the production of AHL’s and AHL’s were not detected in V. parahaemolyticus.
