For a peptide that its infrared spectroscopy is well-known , we can tell the orientation of the peptide towards the interface and whether the peptide aggregates or not. For a unknown peptide or a denatured peptide, we can estimate the content of the individual secondary structure.
It encompasses qualitative, quantitative and structural analysis within the frame of whole mid-IR region, using the characteristic frequencies (Please find the attachment). The last task has involved the polarized IR-spectroscopy in condensed phase (Please pay attention on refs. [1]), applicable for determination of oligopeptides.
