DSM-V is more inclusive and includes Binge and Emotional Eating Disorders. I reference it briefly in my recent publication on Binge and Emotional Eating
-They included BED as an independent category (In the past version it was included in the EDNOS);
-They eliminated the subtypes of BN, which were divided into purging and non-purging type;
- The made criteria more inclusive since most of the ED were included in the EDNOS, they eliminated amenorrhoea as criteria for AN, they reduced the frequence of binging (from twice a week to once a week) and provided more specific temporal criteria.
I recently published a review about the diagnosis in ED, including a section about the differences between DSM-IV and DSM-5. If you want to read it I will send it on request.
