As you know, resilient modulus is defined as the ratio between the difference between the maximum and the minimum cyclic deviator stress, ∆𝑞𝑐𝑦𝑐, and the recoverable strain, 𝜀1𝑟, during a load cycle. On the other hand, the shear modulus is determined in the shear strain-shear stress plane. I think both will give the same type of result. So, why do researchers use these two parameters? What is the principal significance behind this? Could you kindly help me to understand this? Also, please provide me with your points if I am wrong. Thanks a lot in advance for your kind help.
