as in any area there are always people without any shame and they do not care about the integrity of the researcher, they only care about a good curriculum and a job to live, that's all for them, regardless of science or helping others
In my opinion, Timeline, external and internal pressures like Publication in high impact journals, to fulfill Guide expectation, financial constains, getting settle down in life.etc.

Competition, time and meeting expectations. It is not limited to students. Well respected researchers, scholars and professors are caught in Scientific Misconduct.
It is a kind of academic dishonesty that has been documented in every type of educational setting from elementary school to graduate school. Throughout history this type of dishonesty has been met with varying degrees of approbation.
There are a variety of causes of academic misconduct. Researchers have studied the correlation of cheating to personal characteristics, demographics, contextual factors, methods of deterring misconduct, even stages of moral development.
The student’s primary interest in undertaking a research project is to prepare a thesis within the stipulated time and get a degree in a hassle free environment. However, an ideal hassle free environment is non-existent in most educational institutions, and research students have to face many constraints for completing their research work. As the student is a novice in the field, s/he may not know much about the intricacies of research and the likely obstacles in the smooth execution of the research project. In such situations, it is the duty of the research guide to reassure the student and make available all the necessary facilities instead of promoting or conniving at unethical practices. Similarly, never give complicated research problems to students, which give them temptations for resorting to unfair means.
The pattern of guidance or counselling imparted to students is flawed in many cases. Many research supervisors do not take up guidance seriously. Some teachers are interested only in increasing the numbers of research students under them. The supervisor must check the methods employed and the data generated by the students periodically.
For a research student, conducting research and writing thesis are areas requiring greater attention and help. It is particularly important that the budding scientists learn only scientific and scrupulous methods of experimentation and reporting of research results.
Lack of self confidence laziness not loving the things they are doing geddiness for authentic results for better publications ...above all lack of scientific temper..

Lack and malfunctioning of equipment which can lead to frustration, then you look at the time given including the cost for the research and transportation. Also, some students are also lazy. They spend more time on their phones and laptops including betting/gambling.
There is a lot of pressure on obtaining immediate and astonishing results. Thus they skip to crosscheck the results or even more, they makeup data. That is why I feel that it is important to teach Research Ethics even to the undergraduates. Unfortunately the need for results and hence for research grants makes people more susceptible to unethical behavior. And also the PIs should not rely entirely on an inexperienced student. However as Abdullah mentioned above I did not encounter many cases of corrupt data. As for the undergraduates students they should be thought how to evaluate their own results and not just be used as means to obtain them. (but a lot of PIs are occupied with paperwork and do not have to much time to spend with the students).
