Chi-square is a statistical test commonly used to compare observed data with data we would expect to obtain according to a specific hypothesis. If we have two categorical variables both of them have 4 levels and the (68%) have expected count less than 5, so the result of chi-squared test will not be accurate. What is the alternative test? May I use likelihood ratio test despite of chi square?
Secondly Fisher exact test is only use for 2x2 tables and with cell counts less than 5? what about if cell counts are more than 5 like 12 or 15 in 4x5 tables? which test will be used?
