These days, we have several occasions where students at undergraduate levels are older than the teacher. Do you see anything wrong in this? Do you think age should play a major role in teaching job? Thanks.
In my view, it is best to have a few years of practical experience before you teach. In my case, I worked each summer since my undergraduate degree and then two years for a geotechnical engineering firms. Thus, assuming a PhD as your terminal degree, then my suggestion you may start at age 28 or later.

It depends on many factors. The teacher should not only know the subject, but also be interested in teaching of the student. Secondly, he/she must be an adult (some scientists have this property at the age of 17, and some retain their “childishness” up to 40...). I was dealing with a twenty-year-old teacher, who was absolutely in place (He was graduated from high school a year earlier and defended his PhD in 4th year of university), and also with a 30-year-old man who look on students as on "little animals," as result he turned away to the blackboard and mumbled absolutely correct things. However, he was not perceived as a teacher, because he absolutely did not create feedback from the students. The third option is a student who spoke English better than a teacher, Head of Chair was asked him to make practice with older students (and paid to him) at a time when his classmates repeated: "Mom, Dad, Cow" ...
So, there is no general recipe. The Head of the department should choose among senior students a person who can teach and gradually introduce him into the teaching process. Often a person, having understood that he does not correspond to the task, leaves this occupation, but sometimes it is necessary to prompt him... This applies not only to young but also to older teachers, who sometimes lose contact with reality and cannot give anything to the students.
Academic socialization and foundation is important, which happens in modern societies between age 18 and 25. Concerning teaching, substantial practical and scientific life experience adds the most value to human instruction. Educational passion itself is not limited by age, if the health conditions permit.
Students' comprehension cannot be achieved by a cavalry attack. A teacher should know bypass trails to get it done. It is a matter of a personal calling and a deep knowledge of the subject matter. The former can appear at a very early age, the latter can be reached by 27-33 on an average. In exceptional cases, 23-24 is quite possible.
Thanks Dr Marwah Firas Abdullah Al-Rawe, Dr Hassan Nima, Dr Stephen I. Ternyik, Dr Len Leonid Mizrah, Dr Ataul Karim Patwary and Dr Anjay kumar Mishra for your contributions,
A minimum years of experience shall enrich teaching, provided passion for teaching.
The more years spent in work experience, the more effective the academic job shall be, provided continuous following of research publications during work.
Young researcher have new energy, enthusiasm, fresh knowledge, modern attitude, but they need experience and wisdom. So, I think that academic and consulting work seeks cooperation between different generations.
There is nothing wrong when students at undergraduate levels are older than the teacher. However, specifically talking about teaching profession, a few years of practice is necessary.
As per my view in Academic branch you complete Ph. D and join job at the age 28 years. If you are going to private job then after complete graduation is ok at the age 24 to 25. If your doing job and you start any age.
Thanks Dr Aleksandar Dejanović, Dr Mohd Imran Khan, Dr Abdullah Noori, Dr Eman Kareem, Dr J. M. Koli and Dr Mohammad Radhi sahib Alsabri for your contributions.
The most ideal job to start an academic job is above 25 although this is not fixed as age is not always a factor which determines holding a job. Educational qualifications and agood personality as well as experience in the relevant field are the most important requirements.
I think it may be difficult to mention a particular age. There are Professors who starts career immediately after Ph D while some do Ph D after working for many years. Having practical experiences, they have strong urge to teach. Such Professors are helpful in teaching application of concepts in a practical situation.

Start early and continue long years and decades. The younger teacher may start with a lab and a tutorial as I did in early years. This is done in many places. The older student makes a choice and accepts the faculty.
Sometimes the younger teacher will be partnering with an older one, maybe emeritus where the young energy and old experience work well together.
There is no limitation for the education and knowledgeable whatever your age or how you are?. but the important thing is how do you have of information wealth in your mind and when you need to practice it?, which help you to growing up. Now,
the real challenging with your self is keep going to get the education.
We can not evaluate any research or study unless we identify the researcher as well as his scientific style in this study. The researcher is to be successful in his research and is able to study it. He must have personal and scientific characteristics so that the academic In terms of the method of scientific methodology according to the rules of scientific research or academic qualities, which is characterized by the most important of these qualities is scientific honesty and avoid the theft of scientific, which can be located. All these elements are confronted by a distinguished researcher who publishes research that is distinguished in terms of form or content
For me, I think the experience is best obtained on the job. Start as early as possible as Graduate Assistant or Assistant Lecturer under the tutelage of senior colleagues/Professors.
Qualifications should be the sole criteria, age factor rarely have an impact on the academic performance of any faculty. Yes, administrative duties certainly require lot of experience which comes with the age only.
Thanks Dr Shibani Dash, Dr Prabhjot Kaur, Dr Felix Nwafor, Dr Luma M. Ahmed, Dr Luma HAFEDH ABED Oneizah, Dr Dr Ravinder Poonia and Dr Josef Punčochář for your reponses.
I started teaching after finishing my Ms degree. I was 27 years old and some students from local companies were older than me. It was funny but I think there is no age . it is mainly about how much you master the field and your capacity to deliver it.
It all about the experty and your intrest to introduce yourself in acadamics. No ideal age limit .After finishing your PG or later after exposed to the field anyone can go for acedamic job
The age bracket of 28-34 seems to be the best to start an academic job/carrier since it is the age where one has probably the best combination of drive to succeed, and real world experience (including specific experience in what they are pursuing in academia, or general, common-sense wisdom).
However, everything after 30 is a great time to begin working in academia. Experience only increases from here, and this should in theory be translatable to better research.
There wasn't much choice. Scholarships required me to work as an academic assistant beginning in the first year of college, and to give my first lecture in Organic Chemistry lab the following year, from memory a topic of steam distillation in a reacting solution. At the time I seemed a bit too young for lecturing others who were almost the same scholastic level. The college tended to stretch individual abilities as part of the education.
Honors at graduation from High School justified the scholarships but did little to prepare me for college academic job. Over the first six years I did a variety of lectures and seminars, assistance to professors, and laboratory duties.
On one occasion I presented a previously unproven Physics relationship. On a different occasion I annoyed one professor by solving his problem symbolically before a class then learning later it was thought to be unsolvable symbolically. Thankfully a PhD candidate came in and helped me to formalize it.
Decades later after observing people of all ages in their first academic jobs, I formed the opinion that none of them were ready for it until they had done it for a while. So early starting is recommended. An added benefit is the association with more senior academic people, some of whom remain in contact.
