Recently I found a fungal culture which was able to degrade crystalline cellulose at very fast rate. I would like to identify it but I dont know the detailed biochemical protocols for identification.
Shailesh Sawant, Have a look through the previous posts in this topic. There are some particularly good references to protocols which you should find useful at http://www.researchgate.net/topic/Mycology_and_Phytopathology/post/Identification_of_fungus .
Send you r culture to National fungal identification facility funded by DST at Pune Agarkar Research Institue. You will have autheticity of identification.
Grow it on PDA, make some slides and get some fair idea about its salient morphological features. Depending on the genus, you can sequence ITS or secondary barcode gene markers.
Consult an expert, if you are overwhelmed by fungal identification!
