Holistic Education for Children:

Somehow I feel, the present education system in Schools has very less emphasis on health related concerns of children , unless it becomes a major issue and results in absenteeism.

There are no designated health co-ordinator in the schools (except for kendriya Vidyalaya schools)

There are no designated mental health specialist in the schools- although post covid its become a mandate ((except for kendriya Vidyalaya schools)

Hence as researcher I believe, the present School Health programs should cover both physical and mental health components as it is crucial for children’s well-being.

Teaching children skills like managing their emotions and resilience, alongside healthy habits, can lead to long-term health benefits. Such holistic education can help reduce oral health issues by encouraging broader lifestyle changes that support overall health (Hockenberry & Wilson, 2013).
