I am an Indian. I am writing an article on the socio, economic and political state of India. I want to begin that article with perceptions about this country. I first associate "India" with religion, both Hinduism and Buddhism, that goes back to ancient times, along with modern gurus, which include Mahatma Mohandes Ghandi who taught peaceful coexistence and nonviolent protesting. When I studied yoga (Hinduism) as a young man, I longed to go there but have never made it. I know there are multiple religions in India today, but those are the two that attracted me the most.

The first thing that I am going to write is here that you are being invited to visit India. I will be very happy to welcome you. I stay in Salt Lake City, Kolkata in the West Bengal province of India. This city of Kolkata is the third largest city in India and is popularly called the cultural capital of the country. A man of your type and stature will get plenty of food for the mind in this city and country.
Now coming to what you have written here, I am very happy to see that you have put the bigger volume of importance on religions. Yes, religion is said to be the lifeline of India. I am a Hindu. Apart from Hindus like me, in this country there are Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Jains, Buddhists, Zoroastrians and people from many other religions and faiths.
I am myself a Gandhian. I think he shocked the world at one point of time with his philosophy of "ahimsa" or "non-violence".

I lived in different countries in Europe and in Asia. Indian culture is very famous everywhere and the first thing that comes to my mind is Curry. More generally, Indian food. India is the largest democracy in the world. In a democracy, the ruler and the opposition have the same status. That is why, in the Parliamentary system of India, the Prime Minster and the Leader of the Opposition are treated with equal importance. For taking decisions, many a times the Prime Minister consults the Leader of the Opposition and the decision is announced as the joint decision by both of them.
I agree with every point that you have said. I don't agree with the last point that you wrote about the ruling party. The system is such in India that it is impossible for the ruling party to do so. But still, I respect you and your writing in this discussion. Still, I shall surely think more about the point that you raised about the ruling party.
