I have read that the theory is mainly related to the surface energy and that as the temperature is increased, the surface energy decreases which results in a lot less nucleation sites and thus it assembles like wires. However, I'm not fully satisfied by this type of very preliminary explanation. I'd appreciate a more exact explanation. I'd like to get an explanation of the self-assembly of materials on the substrate in the thermal evaporation method.
