I feel it contradictory to evolutionary advantage that the two strands of DNA as evolved are anti-parallel but the polymerases that synthesize/ replicate them can do so in only one direction. Would it not be easier for the system if either DNAP could synthesize in both directions or the strands weren't anti-parallel? Of course the system is much smarter than us so, there must be some advantage that this seemingly contradictory (to me) phenomena  gives to the system which my limited knowledge and thinking can't apprehend.
