What is the effect of presence of gas bubbles on the electric current transfer in liquid batteries?
IR drop
Dear prof. Muralidharan,
Is there any mathematical or physical modeling or explanations to investigate the role of gas bubbles in Liquid Batteries???
Best regards
i read long time back in the book Vetter " electrochemical kinetics"
as the gas bubble removes the electrolyte near the electrode the depletion causes starvation of ion;
please see " bubble overpotential "in hydrogen evolution reactions
you can model the size of gas bubble,volume of the electrolyte removed , loss in conductivity ,IR drop.
there is also a potential for the gas bubble to coalesce and leave as a gas( esga caping tendency) see a book on ELECTROCHEMICAL ENGG.,
if need contact my student prof Venkatasubramanian of UNIVERSITY OF WASHING TON, SEATTLE; he is good electro chem engg.,
