I appreciate your effort in helping us to enhance our knowledge in the recent topics that you have come out in this forum. I thank you for the extensive research done by you on the subject. Some of your works available in science-direct is really very informative and nicely elaborated.
The addition of nano-silica (NS) leads to enhance the physico-chemical and mechanical properties of cement mortar blended with 20 wt.% ACS. The ACS-blended cement mortar containing 6 wt.% NS showed the highest compressive strength comparing with ACS-blended cement mortar without NS as well as the control cement mortar with no ACS. The NS has a potential impact on physico-chemical and mechanical properties of ACS blended cement mortar as proved by XRD, DTA, TGA, and SEM techniques.
The addition of 6 wt.% NS led to increase the compressive strength of ACS-blended CM by ~116 and 42%, respectively, compared to the control sample (without ACS). The hydration products were identified using X-ray diffraction, differential thermal analysis, thermo-gravimetric analysis, and scanning electron microscopy.
Nano-sized amorphous silica was previously used to enhance the performance of OPC by its interaction with Portlandite to form additional calcium silicate hydrate (CSH)
