Under drought where transpiration exceeds that of absorption of water; means there is very less water status in the plant system to meet transpiration demand thereby wilting occurs..during these conditions, there is higher rate of evaporation from the soil surface unlike transpiration (aerial loss of water) from the plant surface leaving salts over the soil surface resulting in salinity problem because there is no proper water or moisture content in the soil so as to leach down soluble salts in the soil...so under drought conditions, there is higher content of salt left over soil surface thereby higher salinity or higher EC value of the soil..
