In simple trans-location is chromosomal alteration or a type of abnormality, i.e. rearrangement of parts between non-homologius chromosomes. Here the exchange or rearrangment is complete or balanced with out missing genetic information or some times unequal either extra or missing genes.
If you come to trans-position DNA is removed from one site and inserted in to a second site, i.e. movement of DNA from one location to another. So these are called transposable elements. Transposition is related to replication, recombination and repair. Remember jumping genes or Barbara McClintock.
Go to wikipedia or Google it you get very nice information along with examples.
