Could someone explain to me the difference between the following two terms?
• Element-based distributed volume current density vector
• Surface-based distributed surface current density vector
Although the first one is called volume density, the second one is called surface density, both of them have the same unit that is A/m^2.
What are their specific application? Are they interchangeable?
One is for surface current densities and the other for body current sources, one relates to surface eddy current analysis while the other relating to a vector for electro magnetism coupling of a bulk in the *DECURRENT and *UDECURRENT routines (maybe others too?)
The Surface-based is assigned to a node set defining a surface or the face of an element in the Abaqus model, while the other is element/volume defined.
