What is the difference between the simulation on ADS schematics and layout simulation for S parameters?
In layout simulation the Momentum is used to get the S parameters, in schematics how ADS calculate the S parameters? And why it fast than Momentum ?
Hi, there are huge difference exists between this two types of simulation. The schematic solver is commonly used to find the optimal circuit parameters. In the schematic solver, circuit sections are replaced by equivalent elements that are described by analytical expressions. Therefore, the schematic solver does not take into account the electromagnetic interaction of elements on each other. Layout simulation uses numerical methods for solving systems of differential equations to find unknown currents. This approach is more accurate and allows taking into account the mutual influence of the circuit elements.
