Is this expatiation true for the difference between High Frequency transformer and Coupled-Inductor for dc/dc converter,
"Transformer is basically used for voltage and current scaling, but primarily for DC-isolation between the input and the output. Coupled inductor does not provide any isolation between the grid and the load. It is use for energy storage during switching cycle of the dc/dc converter.".
If statement is not true than how can i precisely differentiate between the two.
The difference is the way in you operate the units. Both can be used for isolation. The transformer will have no airgap and the coupled inductor needs an airgap to store energy.
In the en closed drawing, the first figure corresponds to a transformer: when voltage is applied to the primary, current flows through the secondary.
In the second schemdatic, when the voltage is applied to the coupled inductor, as the secondary is reversed, no current flows in the secondary. Current builts up in the inductor. When the mosfet turns off, the energy flows through the secondary.
In a practical circuit, there will be no difference in the qualitative electrical model (and therefore characteristics) of both components.
A transformer is intended to have a very small leakage and very high magnetizing inductance (and therefore to store almost no energy), while a coupled inductor has a *defined* leakage and magnetizing inductance (storing a defined amount of energy).
