I would say that a nanocatalyst corresponds to catalytic nanoparticles deposited onto a support, which in itself has no catalytic properties, whereas a nanostructured catalyst corresponds to a bulk material whose surface is structured at the nanometer scale for increasing significantly its surface area, and therefore its activity.

To me the term nanocatalyst is used for the catalyst which has the size in the range of nanometer. Like using silver nanoparticles as catalyst without any support.

While the term nanostructured catalyst is used for the catalyst which may be either a bulk/large sized catalyst but has some characteristics due to some functional groups attached to it or may be it has been deposited on a support which may enhance the activity of the catalyst an example could be mesh type supports which are used as catalyst carriers

To me the term nanocatalyst means the size is in nano-scale and the nanostructured catalyst means the whole thing may be big like assembly or film but one part or one dimension of it could be in nano-scaled size as it more emphasizes the structure.

In my opinion:

- nanocatalyst: the active site is in nano-scale. For example: Ag nano-particules, Pt (particle size in nanoscale) supported on silica...

- nano-structured: we are talking about the structure of materials not only about it's size but also their composition and internal organization (shapes, surfaces, crystal structures, pore system...etc,)

So, I think these 2 terms are different.
