There are many reports and small series about LECS for gastric tumors as well as for bariatric surgery. While lower GI ESD and ESR are increasingly being used, only a few case reports exist for lower GI LECS . Any personal experience or ideas into this matter?
It's a combined endoscopic (by a gastroenterologist) and laparoscopic (by a surgeon) approach for the resection of gastrointestinal tumors. The idea is really similar to a classic surgical wedge resection but without the disadvantages of positive margin resections and postoperative stenosis.
We have used it for gastric GIST and there are many reports from Asiatic countries for early gastric cancer. However i'm wondering if someone has any experience using it for difficult to resect endoscopically colon polyps.

VERY FEW OCCASSIONS WE REQUIRED ON TABLE COLONOSCOPY IN OUR SETUP.Twice I was confident to locate a carcinoma in the Left colon but was unable to do so till a colonoscopy was done.once a sessile polp fairly large in Transverse colon required colonoscopic help to locate..ofcourse colonoscopic perforations are a different entity managed laparoscopically.
This is an article about cooperative laparoscopic - endoscopic and hybrid laparoscopic techniques that are applied for upper GI tumors. Unfortunately the literature is rather poor concerning similar techniques and lower GI tumors.
