The structure of benzene is as follows:
12 sigma bonds and 3 pi bonds. 1) Sigma bonds: 6 C-C + 6 C-H = 12; 2) Pi bonds: 3 C=C.
It should be noted that the pi bonds are in a conjugated system and rotate around the ring which contribute the stability to benzene.
In the Kekulé structure of benzene, all bond lengths are equal and have equal pi and sigma character. In an ideal graphene structure, all bond length are also equal and have equal strength. Silicon Carbide has several different structures, but to my knowledge the Carbon is sp3 hybridised in qll, and therefore does not form pi bonds.
