The term mass collaboration is composed of the terms "Collaboration", which means that people engage in a collaborative activity in order to achieve a common goal and increase mutual knowledge. The second is mass and broad meaning, which is added to the first term after the Web 2.0 revolution. On the Web 2.0 technology, through which individuals seek to produce something common in order to achieve a common goal and greatly support the development of knowledge in the process of exchange.
Mass collaboration is a form of collective action that occurs when large numbers of people work independently on a single project, often modular in its nature.
