There is no single medium composition for biosurfactant production. The producing organism determines or guides what is best for it. Nature of biosurfactant also plays a role for organisms that produce mixtures of surface-active compounds. Careful and meticulous screening and optimization experiments reveal these requirements.

I use MSM medium (mineral salt medium) with glucose and yeast extract, for the production of biosurfactant (lipopeptide) and I had satisfactory results, but if your strain is already stored for a long time you would have to go through induction of the strain. Good luck
