In California, there is a recent trend of releasing life-term offenders "with the possibility to parole," who have shown that they are no longer a danger to society. I am interested in formulating a study to look at what occurs as lifers (ones with histories of violence) shift from a life oriented toward violence to a life that is focused on trying to get out prison (which means engaging in rehabilitative services). I am interested in other's thoughts on the best way to research this.
