The best thickness of the glass cover is the smallest one, because it prevent the glass cover from collecting energy and increase its temperature. For this purpose, I think that 2mm glass thickness is the best. However, at this thickness the glass may damaged easily, so 3mm thickness glass is suitable for your work.

Yes Khaleel, Thank to Miqdam Elmiqdam gave you the right answer, but also you have to cater for the application location. If it is a save palace and the quality of 2mm glass is good you can use it, otherwise use 3mm glass.

you can use 4 mm thickness , but must be clear and the colour of edges is very clear (do not have green colour of edges)
