I recommend watching RS3 and slide 3d from Rocscience. They have great potential for determining the properties of anisotropy and cracks. Anisotropic surface allows you to simulate anisotropy in folded structures.

I feel you could simulate your landslide problem with ground water fluctuations or rock discontinuity using a finite element based PLAXIS3D softwarte..to my knowledge IIT, Roorkee is having PLAXIS3D software..so you can use this software for your problem. PLAXIS3D is having Hock - Borwn model to simulate the constitutive behaviour of discontinuos rock. Also, literature available related to your topic with plaxis based results. You may try with another software a finite difference based FLAC3D software..I can say that you could get literature on your topic based on the work done using these two softwares..ok all the best in your research..

FLAC 3D and 3DEC would be highly useful for you studies. If you are dealing with multiple lithology use 3DEC (Discrete element method) because each block will behave different and undergoes deformation. While FLAC suites well for continuum medium.

The right software to use should be capable of simulating all the internal and external loads triggering and influencing the landslides. More evolved numerical codes by ITASCA are recommended . For continuum media FLAC 2/3D, for discrete media UDEC/3DEC, for highly discrete media PFC 2/3D are recommended. Soumya Darshan Panda

Regarding your modelling question. DIANA can interprete any cloudpoint for geometry and or CAD/IFC 3D models for the shapes.

Also the analysis (static or dynamic) can be down including watereffects and staggered or fullly coupled waterflow or strength effect on porosity changes.
