For the Transepithelial Electric Resistance (TEER) measurement of a cell monolayer, which instrument is better?
We are planning to buy a new instrument. I saw there are two options: one from Millipore and other from WPI. Which one is better for you, and which model?

I know this is a slightly older question, but allow me to share my thoughts on this topic for anybody who might stumble across this later!
I am familiar with both of the products you are referring to (EVOM2 and ERS-2) which are primarily distributed through WPI and Millicell. However my company, Flocel Inc., also provides such a system, the Dynamic In Vitro Blood Brain Barrier (DIV-BBB) Fluid Perfusion and TEER Measurement system. This system has distinct advantages over the EVOM2 and ERS-2, as well as other systems, due to its Fluid Perfusion subsystem, which provides continuous and pulsatile fluid flow to the cell layer throughout its growth --a method proven to result in a more confluent barrier with TEER values closer to those recorded in vivo. This does not happen with the cell culture cups used alongside the EVOM2 or ERS-2, and many publications have cited the subsequent lack of physiologically-accurate TEER in these systems! Furthermore, our new TEER Measurement Unit greatly expands the capabilities of data collection: with the ability to sweep frequencies between 1-1,000 Hz (with 0.1 Hz resolution), the system can record both impedance and phase angle of the cell barrier. This system can be set to automatically collect data from up to 4 cell culture modules simultaneously over an indefinite period of time, and log this data to an intuitive and well-organized save file.
