In order to move further in our research, it is essential to obtain pure cultures of isolated pathogenic fungi.
Despite working in a sterile environment, the contamination still prevails.

The best method to limit or prevent bacterial contamination in fungi growth cultures is using the wide spectrum antibacterial antibiotic Chloramphenicol with a concentration of 100-125 mglL. We use it in our laboratorial experiments successfully. So, we have no contamination.
You can use Streptomycin with a concentration of 75 mglL as Dr. Kouadri mentions above, but not in the same efficiency of Chloramphenicol, because some times contamination appears despite using it. I prefer chloramphenicol.
The common method for eliminating bacterial contamination is to supplement antibiotics (Streptocycline) into the medium Md. Abdur Rahman
Yes, dear Dr. Kuoadri Mohamed, according to our experiments, it was seen that Chloramphenicol is better than Streptomycin because its a wide spectrum antibiotic. So, it reduces the different bacterial growth significantly.
