I using Dip coating method to deposit ZnO films on glass substrate. The ZnO films will be deposited on both the side of the glass substrates. I would like to etch out one side of ZnO completely to study UV-Vis spectroscopy etc.,

Please reply me the best way to etch out ZnO films completely from the glass substrates?

In microelectronics where very thin Si disks are used - in order to protect another side of the disk from the action of etchant - they cover another side of the disk by laquer based on PolyAcryloNitrile (PAN) . This laquer is almost similar to that which is used by women for nails (nail polishing). The PAN film is easily removed just by pulling off.

What about this solution?
Contact two glass plates and seal the gab by using tesa or PAN or rubber band.
This leads to a double solution. You will have two identical samples and you do not need to etch.

You are welcome. Thank the traffic jam. By the way do not forget to check the absorbance of your sample without ZnO. Some glasses may interfere with the absorption range of the ZnO.
