I need to extract hemolymph from pistachio twig borer larvae for juvenile hormone assay. I used a cold capillary tube for this purpose, but the amount of hemolymph is too little to collect and hemolymph immediately becomes rigid before pouring from the tube to the vial. Is there any way of extracting hemolymph?

I also read the link (http://www.google.com/patents/US5866317) about extracting hemolymph with a buffer solution and I wonder if this method is useful for hormonal assay purposes because of its temperature condition (20° C).
