Thanks for the answers Gabriele Giuliani, Federico Benassi and D.M. Sujeewa Dissanayaka I've already used Spring, Idrisi Kilimanjaro, SAGA, Orfeo and GvSIG, as I recall. But the best program among all I have used, whether proprietary or free, was the QGIS, without a shadow of a doubt. An immense collaborative team forming a program of excellent quality and capacity in GIS, Web GIS and Geoprocessing etc.
QGIS is an open source software and it is easy to access. QGIS has less processing time and better rendering capabilities. QGIS is excellent in that it can consume many data formats and basically has all the same capabilities as ArcGIS. In addition, since QGIS is cross-platform it is Linux and Mac friendly, making it more versatile than ArcMap, which only works on Windows machines.
The questioning was to confirm this. Also I am part of the collaborating community and user of QGIS, it is the best GIS of the present, without any doubt. Regards
