How can I delineate river basins starting from a DEM and having a CVS in MATLAB / QGIS / GRASS GIS?

I have a DEM of a river basin and I want to delineate sub-basins for certain points of which I have the coordinates. Can you suggest an AUTOMATIC method in MATLAB or in GIS to do it?
