Hi, we are preparing a transition-metal oxide paste for use in supercapacitor. we plan to add in some PCDF as binder to increase the adhesion between the active and the current collector. May I ask what is the appropriate solvent and ratio for the slurry containing metal oxide, activated carbon and PVDF(palette form)?

It depends on the metal oxide and other factors like synthesis method of material and preparation procedure of electrode material. You can find in the literature different ratios of active material to conductive additive and PVDF. The most common mass loading of PVDF in the electrode material is about 5-10%. When it comes to solvent you can apply acetone, N-methyl-2pyrrolidone or ethanol as well.
