To analyze long-term soil moisture(SM) dynamics from 2002-2015, remote sensed SM products can be used. AMSR SM product provided data-set from 2002-2010, but which other SM products can be compatible with it for continue time series? Thanks!
May also try a remote sensing blended soil moisture product from the ESA CCI project (http://www.esa-soilmoisture-cci.org/node/93). Lots of efforts were made to produce a "most complete and most consistent global soil moisture data record based on active and passive microwave sensors."
