What is the advantages and disadvantages of using conventional PCR over real time PCR?

I'm currently working with a multiplex PCR for arboviruses detection and I would like to know if that is a better approach than using real time PCR methodology.

This depends entirely on what you are trying to ascertain. If you just want to confirm a particular construct then PCR is fine, however if you plan of assessing viral load then real time is essential.
