I'm researching the implications of a possible acute or long term exposition to organophosphate pesticides induce to a autoimmune response, due to my recent research try to relate this pesticides and metals to an autoimmune skin disease called pemphigus.

Lee's 2007 article provided evidence that women exposed to pesticides were at a higher risk for developing arthritis, especially rheumatoid arthritis (Environ Health Perspect. 2007 Jun;115(6):883-8. Epub 2007 Feb 20.) .
There may be chance to generate new complexes to stimulate the autoimmune. But the important thing is, the adverse impact on bio chemistry of the body is much higher than benefits ( at long term exposition to organophosphate pesticides). So, you can modify the structure of organophosphate pesticides to reach its toxicity to very low, and you can utilized the modified compound your research. You can refer the test book of “ Species Sensitivity Distribution in Ecotoxicology” for more details.
There is the concept of molecular mimicry where a compound might exhibit a similar structure with an antigen and mount an immune response against it. Moreover, autoimmunity might be initiated by compounds that cause a lot of uncontrolled cell death (necrosis); new antigens might become available that may drive a harmful response.

The suggestion that organophosphate acting as a hapten can give rise to autoimmunity should be treated with considerable caution. Haptens , more or less by definition, elicit no Tcell response and are immunogenic only when coupled with a carrier that can be recognised by T-cells. There is an exception - L-tyrosine-azobenzenearsonate - which can act as a carrier in spite of its low molecular weight (Alkan SS, Nitecki DE, Goodman JW.,J Immunol. 1971 Aug;107(2):353-8).
Some haptens, dinitrochlorobenzene being a classical example, when reacted with skin proteins give rise not only to anti DNP antibodies but to delayed hypersensitivity due to a Tcell reaction to the conjugate. But this reaction depends entirely on the presence of the hapten and there is no auto immune reaction to the normal skin proteins. The idea that reaction to a hapten-protein conjugate gives rise to an auto-immune response to the unaltered autologous protein seems a bit far fetched and would need some evidence.
