I got a lot of numbers of Bn for measuring Igeo (index of geoacummulation) Pb, Zn, As and Cu of Igeo from different books. Which numbers for Bn of those metals are most used? Thanks!
Zn is the most frequently used as it finds industrial application in galvanization. Zn to Cu (electrical wires) to Pb (petroleum fuel) to As (Alloys).
You need to find the Bn level of your area/region/country or those that are similar according to the origin and nature of the soil under study..
Thank you very much for your replies! I took values of Bn from Hooda (2010): Trace elements in soils. It appears to be used for that. I study a region of Drahany Upland: Czech Republic.
Pb or Zn. but this depends on the levels you have in the soil.
is better than you use an element such as Fe for it. because it is less modified by human activities
I think that my question is not sufficient clear. I study a contamination by heavy metals in soils. Among study metals belong to lead, zinc, arsenic and copper. And to my thesis I had to measure Igeo for Pb, Cu, Zn and As. I need to know what are values of Bn are used for those metals because each publication (for example Kabata-Pendias, Hooda) state diferent values of Bn for Cu, As, Zn and Pb.
