My Graphene Oxide Quantum Dots(GOQD) are dissolved in DI water. So far, i used freeze drying method to get the GOQD powder. But it takes little long time. So i want to used evaporation drying method. What is difference between GOQDs powder from freeze drying method and evaporation drying method?
Structure & residual solvent.
Evaporation is concentration to (near) dry.
Freeze drying is immobilization of the sample, then removal of the frozen solvent.
If you want a dry film, with up to a few % residual solvent, then evaporate
If you want a dryer lighter structure, freeze dry, typically you then see a 1% residual solvent level.
As you noted, there is a time penalty.

The freeze drying consists of a sequence of drying steps; freezing, warming up, main drying and final drying in order to remove maximum amount of residual solvent than evaporation drying. Colour of the powder may be well preserved in freeze drying
For better chemical and sensory qualities of the powder, frees drying is better
