Dear all

This question is with respect to clarity of concept of human intestinal permeability.

Either we use in vitro or ex-vivo method, what is actual permeability?

I found two terms (i) effective and (ii) apparent permeability in literature. It mentions that in vitro methods essentially gives apparent permeability values. While, ex-vivo methods give effective permeability.

Anyone can please clear the concept?

Thank you for your help!

Sincerely

Samarth
