Dear Scientists
During a study of corrosion inhibitor's performance, and doing Tafel fitting, there is a statistical value appear called "Chi Squared" and having a wide range of values ranging from very low (0.0001) to tens.
Please can you advise how can I decide based on "Chi Squared" value if my Tafel fit is correct or not?
I am using GAMRY Potentiostat.

a very small chi square test statistic means that your observed data fits your expected data extremely well. In other words, there is a relationship. A very large chi square test statistic means that the data does not fit very well. In other words, there isn't a relationship.

Dear Aasem Zeino , a Chi-Squared distribution corresponds to the distribution of a sum of the squares of n independent normally distributed (i.e. Gaussian) random variables. This gives a corresponding Chi-Squared distribution with degrees of freedom; if these variable are not all independent, the the number of degrees of freedom will be lower than the number of the variables.
A Chi-Squared distribution corresponds thus to the expression in the image, and this corresponds to the result of a least square fit. Tafel fit for the frequency response goes in this direction.
