For degradation test for hydrogel, I am supposed to use lysozyme (10,000u/ml) with phosphate buffer saline(ph 7.4).
Is there an inexpensive alternative for lysozyme that would get the work done?

that is depend on the materials of hydrogel. if your hydrogel based on proteins you can utilize pepsin or trypsin
