Dear colleagues and fellow researchers,
I am planning an experiment and I was wondering if I can use Streptactin (beads) for the pull-down of biotinylated proteins. Obviously, it is cheaper than other options.
I know of affinity between streptavidin/avidin-biotin and Straptactin-strep-tag. But will the Streptactin work with biotin?
I will be grateful for any insight or link for literature.

"... Strep-Tactin® still has the capability to bind biotin, which is used as specific competitor for elution of strep-tagged proteins. The binding affinity of biotin to Strep-Tactin® is not as high as for streptavidin and therefore biotinylated molecules can bind to Strep-Tactin® in a reversible manner and the release from binding is carried out under mild and physiological conditions by adding an excess of free biotin."
