Some proposed cross-linking reagent for starch are sodium trimetaphosphate, epichlorohydrine and citric acid. Is there another reagent to cross-link starch?
You can try any type of poly functional carboxylic acids like malic acid, melonic acid, tartaric acid, adipic acid and succinic acid. You can also try using acetic anhydrade.
You can use also glutaraldehyde and formaldehyde http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/17225470 (but they are quite toxic, especially the latest one), Here you have paper comparizing mentioned above crosslinking agents http://www.ifrj.upm.edu.my/21%20%2803%29%202014/56%20IFRJ%2021%20%2803%29%202014%20Wittaya%20235.pdf
