I use a camera that when you photograph it measures length, width as well as depth. There are many different brands that do the same but I find that this is the most reproducible between different nurses or doctors on the same patient.

There are some mobile applications also that support technically. But they are not much effective.
Please share the detail of brand and model of the camera you use for wound measurements.
Photographic wound assessment (PWAT) together with Peri-wound skin score (PWSS) tool. Both of these are validated tools used after clinical assessment and taking photograph of the wound. Putting the assessed values in these two tools will give a clear measurement and overall picture of the wound.
There are several software and 3D cameras that give very good results, but are all rather expensives. I think that a good camera, such as last generation mobiles, with a caliber and a good illumination could be an acceptable solution. For me is very important the quality of the shot: with correct illumination and angolation.
Best method would be using latest 3D camera and i suggest to go through EWMA journal
