I am looking for a clear definition of "Radiomic". According to different papers from: Kuo, 2007; Lambin. 2012; aerts. 2014; singanamalli, 2014 and some others, I am not sure if the concept of radiomic can be considered independent from genomic or proteomic. Did radiomic refers, or synonym, to radiography-based features? Without considering underlying genomic correlation. Or did radiomic consists in a set of radiography-based feature highly correlated to some gene (s)? I would be very grateful if someone could provide me with a clear definition.

Looking at it carefully, I feel the concept of radiomic can be viewed separately from genomic and proteomic.
Radiomic according to Kumar et. al.,2012 (find as attached) "refers to the extraction and analysis of large amounts of advanced quantitative imaging features with high throughput from medical images obtained with computed tomography, positron emission tomography or magnetic resonance imaging"
This is completely different from genomic (which deals with the structure, evolution, and functions of genomes) and proteomics ((which deals with the structure and functions of proteomes (protein complements that can be expressed in a cell, tissue or organism)).

the past decades, medical imaging innovations with new hardware, new imaging agents and standardised protocols, allows the field to move towards quantitative imaging. Therefore, also the development of automated and reproducible analysis methodologies to extract more information from image-based features is a requirement. Radiomics – the high-throughput extraction of large amounts of image features from radiographic images – addresses this problem and is one of the approaches that hold great promises but need further validation in multi-centric settings and in the laboratory.

Radiomics is different from genomics. Radiomics deals with extraction of large set of imaging features, which earlier were considered not clinically useful. These features aid in developing CDS for prognosis/ diagnosis/ survival rate .. prediction.

A: There is no dependency on genomic nor the genomic correlation is considered when we refer to radiomic features.
With that said however there are studies that correlates radiomic and genomic features set to establish the relation between two.
In summary Radiomics doesn't have underlying assumption about genomic information.
