I am familiar with a few species such as: grasshoppers, caterpillar and termites from central Africa and these are resources becoming available during a certain season of the year. How about growing insects as if they were livestock? What species are most adaptable and easy to grow?

Apart from tarantulas, scorpions, midges, garsshoppers, locusts, cockroaches, crickets, many lepidopterans, cicadas and other hemipterans, ants and wasps which are either collected or are occasional bounties, the most widely consumed and steadily harvestable form of insect food is the use of beetle grubs or larvae since pound-for-pound they are more nutritious than many of the available labelled nutritive foods, besides earth worms, which are annelids.
